The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at Shop 15, ground floor, Fu Loy Garden, Ma Wang Road, Yuen Long Town Lot 427, Yuen Long, was ordered to suspend business from today (March 29) to April 11, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In July and December last year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises."
"A total fine of $7,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He added that the same restaurant also had two convictions for the same offence in May and July last year.
"A total fine of $11,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from January 9 to 15 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
