Tricks and music from super crazy clowns
****************************************

"Opereta Prima" by La Pipetuˆh from Argentina, one of many attractions of the Family Fiesta 2007 presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will bring exotic tricks, music and laughter to Hong Kong audiences.

La Pipetuˆh, which was founded in 2001, was motivated by studying circus techniques, the theatrical clown, physical comedy, culinary art, and creation with non-traditional objects. Members of La Pipetuˆh come from different companies such as La Trup, Clun and the circus school La Arena.

The show "Opereta Prima" starts with three clowns and an exotic musician who demonstrate all kind of circus acts by using non-traditional objects, including bicycles, monocycle, balls, tennis racquets.

They invade the stage, surprising the audience. One minute, they are competent but wacky musicians. And then suddenly they become tennis players, singers, painters or even lovely dancing village girls.

The spontaneity, simplicity, and eccentric musical humour of the characters, plus the relaxed live music performance make this clown and circus show a unique theatrical experience. And audience participation is an important part in this show.

The show will be staged at 8pm, April 6 and 7 (Friday and Saturday) at the Theatre, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre; April 8 (Sunday) at Cultural Activities Hall, Tsuen Wan Town Hall; and April 9 (Monday) at the Cultural Activities Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall. Tickets priced from $100 to $160 are now available at all URBTIX outlets.
