Land resumption for drainage improvement works

    The Lands Department will resume land in Southern Lantau, Fanling and Tuen Mun to facilitate drainage improvement works to alleviate flooding problems.

     Land to be resumed includes: 79 private agricultural lots with a total area of about 19,989 square metres in the area of Southern Lantau, 77 private agricultural lots with a total area of about 32,827 square metres in the area of Lung Yeuk Tau, Kwan Tei, Tan Shan River and Leng Tsai in Fanling and 19 private agricultural lots with a total area of about 3,210 square metres in the area of Nai Wai, Tuen Mun.

     Notices for the land resumption were published in the Gazette today (March 2).

     The project on Southern Lantau is scheduled to begin in mid-2007 for completion in mid-2010 and the works in Fanling are scheduled to start in July, 2007, for completion in June, 2010. The project in Tuen Mun is scheduled to begin in September, 2007, and will take about two years to complete.
