The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a light refreshment restaurant in Tin Shui Wai to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at Shop L22, ground floor, Grandeur Terrace, Tin Shui Wai Town Lot 28, Area III, Tin Shui Wai, was ordered to suspend business from today (February 22) to March 7, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In June last year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the premises.
"A total fine of $7,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the same restaurant also two convictions for the same offence in May, 2005, and June last year.
"A total fine of $3,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from November 5 to 11 last year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
