The Lands Department registered 16 lease modifications and four land exchanges in the Land Registry during the quarter ending December, 2006, of which eight were for residential purpose and 12 for non-residential development.
Among these 20 land transactions, seven are located on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and five in the New Territories. The transactions exclude Small House cases.
Another three lots were granted by private treaty during the period. One was for gas offtake and pigging station in Sai Kung, one for electricity substation in Ma Wan, and the other one for the commercial / residential development at KCRC's Tuen Mun Station.
A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (January 15) that the 23 land transactions realised a total land premium of about $ 4.17 billion.
Transaction records of the above lease modifications, land exchanges and private treaty grants are uploaded onto Lands Departmentˇ¦s website (www.landsd.gov.hk) on a monthly basis. Further case details may also be obtained by searching the registered documents directly in the Land Registry.
