Police are investigating a homicide case in which a 69-year-old woman died in North Point this morning (October 18).
At about 10 am, Police received a report of injured person found at a unit on No. 29 Fort Street, North Point. Police sped to the scene and located a 69-year-old woman lying unconscious inside the unit.
The woman, with cut wounds on her neck, was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.
Police arrested her 49-year-old son at the scene in connection with the case. He sustained minor injuries to his hand and was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for medical treatment.
A knife was seized at the scene.
A post-mortem will be conducted on the deceased tomorrow (October 19) to ascertain the cause of death.
Enquiries by District Crime Squad of Eastern District are proceeding.
