Nominations for the 2006 Election Committee Subsector Elections will open on November 1 and run until November 8, and nomination forms are now available for collection.
"Nomination forms can be obtained from the Public Enquiry Service Centres at District Offices of the Home Affairs Department, offices of the Returning Officers, and the Registration and Electoral Office (REO) at 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai," an REO spokesman said today (October 9).
The forms can also be downloaded at the REO website (www.reo.gov.hk).
"All candidates must hand in the completed forms in person to the Returning Officer for their subsector during ordinary business hours within the nomination period - 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays, and from 9am to noon on a Saturday. Enquiries can be made to 2891 1001," the spokesman said.
Returning Officers have been appointed for various subsectors to receive nomination forms for their respective subsector during the nomination period and to handle other electoral duties. The notice of their appointments and their office addresses was gazetted on October 6. The full list of Returning Officers can be found at the REO website.
The updated Guidelines on the Election-related Activities in respect of the Election Committee Subsector Elections have already been released.
Copies of the guidelines are available at the REO and the Public Enquiry Service Centres at District Offices of the Home Affairs Department, or can be downloaded at the REO website.
