Following is the transcript of a media session by the Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Mr Stephen Ip, at the Hong Kong Disneyland today (October 2) (English portion):
Reporter: How would you maintain Hong Kongˇ¦s competitiveness, now given that tourists go to other tourist destinations other than Hong Kong during the Golden Week?
Secretary for Economic Development and Labour: We need more tourist attractions, for a start. We have already had the Hong Kong Disneyland, Ngong Ping 360 and Wetland Park. So we have new tourist attractions. We also need to improve our tourism service. It is important that we treat our tourists well. That is why our tourist guides need to pass qualifying examinations. We also have the Travel Industry Council to make sure that we have good standard of service. We would continue our efforts.
