From left, the Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (ETO) in Chengdu, Mr Richard Luk; the Deputy Director of the Sichuan Development and Reform Commission, Mr Li Yaping; the Director of Sichuan Provincial Project Office for Foreign Investment, Mr Xu Shusheng, and the Deputy Director of the Chengdu ETO, Miss Phidias Tam meet this morning (September 28).
Mr Luk was paying a courtesy call on Mr Li on the first day of operation of the ETO in Chengdu.
During the meeting, Mr Li said he hoped the two places would foster closer trade links. Noting that almost half of the foreign investments in the province came from Hong Kong, he said this explained the need for the Special Administrative Region to set up an ETO office in Chengdu.
