Fatal fire in Yau Ma Tei

    A charred body was found at the scene of a fire in Tung Choi Street, Yau Ma Tei today (September 16).

     The fire broke out at 7.15pm at a unit, about 2.4 metres x 3 metres, on the 12th floor of a 24-storey residential and commercial composite building at 2A-2P Tung Choi Street, Yau Ma Tei.

     Firemen used two jets and mobilised three breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze, which was put out at 7.46pm. Four persons feeling unwell were also rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment.
About 30 persons were led to place of safety by firemen.

     Initial reports said that the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
