The Hong Kong Financial Services Delegation to Hunan led by the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Frederick Ma, concluded its three-day visit to Hunan after visiting two manufacturing enterprises in Changsha today (September 15).
The enterprises are a vehicle manufacturer and an air-conditioning appliances production company.
A seminar on listing in Hong Kong for Hunan enterprises was also held by Hong Kong Exchange earlier today.
During the Hunan visit, a number of agreements were signed to enhance exchanges and co-operation in the area of financial services between Hong Kong and Hunan. The signatories included Hong Kong Securities Institute, Hong Kong Stockbrokers Association, International Association of CFOs and Corporate Treasurers, Hunan Corporation Limited Association, the Securities Association of Hunan Province and Hunan Corporation Limited Association.
Besides meeting with senior government officials of the Hunan Provincial Government, the delegates attended various seminars during which they had fruitful exchanges with their Hunan counterparts, gaining a better understanding of the latest developments in Hunan.
The delegation comprises more than 100 prominent figures representing some 90 enterprises and institutions of Hong Kong's financial services sector. They include the banking, securities and insurance industries, venture capital investment and private equity funds, accounting and legal professions, the Hong Kong Exchange and the Securities and Future Commission.
This is the first financial services delegation led by the Government to visit Hunan at the invitation of the Hunan Provincial Government under the Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation Framework (known as 9+2).
