The Secretary for Home Affairs, Dr Patrick Ho, has congratulated a disabled equestrian athlete, Mr Nelson Yip, on qualifying for the 2008 Paralympic equestrian events in the Individual Test of the Pacific Rim International Para-dressage Competition held in Canada.
Dr Ho said: "I am very pleased to see Mr Yip get the qualifications that have made it possible for Hong Kong to be represented in the Paralympic equestrian events, which will be held here for the first time."
He wished Mr Yip all the best in future competitions.
Mr Yip returned to Hong Kong tonight (September 5). The welcoming party at the airport included representatives from the Home Affairs Bureau.
