The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Environmental Affairs left Copenhagen and arrived in Helsinki of Finland on Tuesday (August 29) to continue its 11-day overseas duty visit.
The delegation met the Finnish Ministry of the Environment on August 30 to discuss issues relating to environmental protection and water resource management and had a lunch meeting with the Environment Committee of the Parliament of Finland. Members then visited the Viikinmaki Wastewater Treatment Plant and attended a dinner hosted by the Finnish Ministry of the Environment.
The delegation will visit the Lake Tuusula conservation project (a municipalities co-operation project on water protection) on the morning of August 31 before leaving for Hong Kong in the afternoon.
The delegation comprised five members, including Choy So-yuk, Panel Chairman and delegation leader; Emily Lau Wai-hing, Deputy Chairman of the Panel; Lau Kong-wah; Lee Wing-tat (only joins the delegation for the visit in Denmark and Finland); and Tam Yiu-chung (a non-panel member who joined the delegation only for the visit in Japan).
