The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Environmental Affairs left Tokyo and arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sunday (August 27) to continue its 11-day overseas duty visit.
The delegation met the Danish Energy Authority on August 28 to discuss the Danish energy policy and exchanged views on the use of renewable energy. Members also visited wind turbines in Lolland and Falster, the two islands situated in the southern part of Denmark. They will meet the Danish Environmental Protection Agency on August 29 to discuss environmental protection policies, and later will visit the Copenhagen Solar City.
The delegation will leave Copenhagen for Helsinki later the same day to study the total water management in Finland.
The delegation comprises five members - Choy So-yuk, Panel Chairman and delegation leader Emily Lau Wai-hing, Deputy Chairman of the Panel Lau Kong-wah; Lee Wing-tat (only joins the delegation for the visit in Denmark and Finland); and Tam Yiu-chung (a non-panel member who joined the delegation only for the visit in Japan).
