Broadcasting Authority chairman and members re-appointed

    The Government today (August 25) announced that the Chief Executive had re-appointed Mr Daniel Fung chairman of the Broadcasting Authority for a term of two years from December 1, 2006.

     Welcoming the re-appointment, the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr Joseph W P Wong said he was delighted that Mr Fung has accepted the re-appointment. "Since his first appointment as chairman of the authority in December, 2002, Mr Fung has made significant contribution to the authority in the past four years," Mr Wong said.

     Two existing non-official members, Mrs Yvonne Siu Sun Yuk-bui and Mr Kwok Lit-tung, were also re-appointed for a term of two years, with effect from September 1, 2006, and December 1, 2006, respectively.

     Mr Wong said he was confident that the team of serving members, with their expertise and background in different sectors, would continue to provide valuable contribution to the work of the authority in handling a range of significant and complicated broadcasting issues.
