The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui, will leave on August 26 for Toulouse, France, to officiate at a ceremony to mark the delivery of Cathay Pacific Airways' 100th aircraft.
When the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, formerly known as the "Directorate of Air Services", was established in 1946, Cathay Pacific started its airline business with one aircraft. Upon the delivery of the newest aircraft, its fleet size will reach three digits for the first time in the 60-year history of Hong Kong civil aviation.
Mr Hui will visit the Airbus plant and its assembly lines.
He will return to Hong Kong on August 30. During his absence, the Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands, Mr Michael Suen, will be the Acting Chief Secretary for Administration.
