The Government today (August 17) invited different sectors of the community to submit views on the draft Preliminary Outline Development Plan (PODP) for the Kai Tak Development before the Stage 3 Public Participation programme ended next Wednesday (August 23).
The two-month Stage 3 Public Participation programme for the Kai Tak Planning Review was launched on June 23, 2006. It aims to facilitate early feedback from the public on the draft PODP before it is finalised.
The Planning Department has so far received more than 70 written submissions. Sixteen public forums and workshops have been organised by the Department and other organisations to discuss the PODP proposals. The Government has consulted the Legislative Council, Town Planning Board, Harbour-front Enhancement Committee and concerned District Councils as well as various concerned groups, resident associations and professional institutes.
The PODP proposals together with a physical model have been displayed at various venues to allow people a better understanding of the Kai Tak development. The proposals and model are being staged at the Admiralty MTR station (August 16 to 18), Kowloon City Plaza (August 19 to 20) and Central MTR station (August 21 to 23).
Details of the Stage 3 Public Participation programme have been uploaded onto the Planning Department's website (http://www.pland.gov.hk).
People can submit their views by fax (2894 9502), by e-mail (kdpo@pland.gov.hk) or by post (Kowloon District Planning Office, Planning Department, 14/F North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong).
