The Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, visited the Kowloon City District this morning (August 17) to gain a better understanding of the latest district developments and to meet with local residents.
Accompanied by the District Officer (Kowloon City), Miss Agnes Wong, Miss Yue first enjoyed a panoramic view of the Kai Tak development site from the roof of a private building. She was briefed on the Kai Tak Planning Review which is now under public consultation.
Miss Yue then inspected several environmental blackspots at the rear lanes of Pau Chung Street, San Shan Road and Ma Hang Chung Road. She was glad to see that improvements had been made to clean up the rear lanes under the concerted efforts of different departments.
Later, at the Kowloon City Integrated Family Service Centre, Miss Yue took the opportunity to inspect facilities and chat with a group of woman volunteers.
The final stop of her visit was the Kowloon City District Office. At a tea reception, Miss Yue met with the District Council members and other district personalities and exchanged views on district issues.
