To enhance its information service on regional distribution of wind strength in Hong Kong, the Observatory today (August 10) launched a new webpage.
Presented in an easily comprehensible manner, the new webpage shows the strong and gale force winds in various parts of Hong Kong (please see sample attached). The webpage also describes how winds of different forces show themselves on land and in the sea.

At the same time, studies on the modification of the tropical cyclone signal system have begun. The Observatory will carry out extensive consultation on the subject.
