The Lotteries Fund allocated $150,720,200 to finance various social welfare service programmes from April to June this year, a Social Welfare Department spokesman said today (August 2).
Of the total, $78,823,974 went to social welfare support, $31,826,223 went to rehabilitation services, $25,689,872 went to elderly and medical social services, $8,225,967 went to family and child welfare services, $5,149,006 went to youth services and $ 1,005,158 to community development.
The fund was established to finance, by way of grants, loans or advances, the operation or development of social welfare services and medical or educational projects with a welfare content, the spokesman said.
