The following is issued on behalf of the Electoral Affairs Commission:
The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) will hold a public forum tomorrow (August 3) on the Proposed Guidelines on Election-related Activities in respect of the Election Committee Subsector Elections.
An EAC spokesman said the forum would be held in the conference room at 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, beginning at 2.30pm.
All interested parties and individuals are welcome to give their views at the forum.
The proposed guidelines were released on July 15 for a 31-day public consultation.
Written representations can be sent to the EAC Secretariat at 10/F Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, up to August 14. Submissions by fax (2511 1682) or email (eacenq@reo.gov.hk) will also be accepted.
The spokesman said representations sent to the EAC after the deadline would not be considered.
"The guidelines will be revised as appropriate taking into account representations that are received during the consultation period," the spokesman said.
The finalised guidelines will be promulgated around October.
Copies of the proposed guidelines are available from the Registration and Electoral Office and the Public Enquiry Service Centres of all District Offices. They can also be downloaded from the commission's website at www.eac.gov.hk.
