Labour Department launches Youth Employment Recruitment Month
********************************************************

The Labour Department will launch the Youth Employment Recruitment Month from Monday (July 31).

Co-organised with the training bodies of the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme (YWETS), a series of job fairs and recruitment seminars will be held to provide vacancies for young people and on-the-job training places for YWETS trainees.

The first job fair, "Youth Job Fair in Hunghom", will be held at the Metropolis Mall, 6 Metropolis Drive, Hung Hom, from 11am to 7pm on Monday.

The job fair, jointly organised with the Church of United Brethren in Christ Social Service Division, provides about 1,400 vacancies. The vacancies cover such positions as customer service officer, sales, merchandiser, clerk, accounts clerk, waiter/waitress, beautician, junior designer, computer programmer and technician.

Most of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $10,000 and are open to job-seekers without relevant experience. Job-seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.

Another 500 on-the-job training places will also be posted for application by YWETS trainees.
