The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (July 21) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at around $520,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court today issued a judgement against an employer, Cheung Hak Ping trading as Luen Hing Cleaning Service Company. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA $527,477.58, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 67 employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court further awarded payment of $930 for the District Court case as cost in respect of the claim.
