26 building plans approved in June

    The Buildings Department approved 26 building plans in June - 11 on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 17 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for commercial developments, five were for factory and industrial developments, and two were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 89,034 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,227 units, and 88,864 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 12 building projects.

     The department also issued 25 occupation permits - three on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and 16 in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 278,333 square metres, involving 4,013 units, and 75,011 square metres for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of the new buildings completed in June totalled about $2.8 billion.

     In addition, 10 demolition consents involving 10 building structures were issued.

     The department received 1,911 complaints against unauthorised building works in June, and issued 3,042 removal orders on unauthorised works.
