A spokesperson for the Hospital Authority made the following announcement update today (July 19):
As at 5pm today, Castle Peak Hospital reported a new case of patient (female, aged 54) suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting symptoms. The patient is being treated under isolation and in stable condition. Laboratory test is being carried out for the patient.
Infection control measures have already been stepped up in the concerned ward, which include temporary suspension of admission to and discharge from the ward, restricted visiting with adequate precautionary measures, enhanced medical surveillance of other patients in the ward.
The case has already been reported to the authority's Head Office and Centre for Health Protection for the necessary follow up actions.
