Government welcomes judgment on Employees Retraining Levy

    The Government respects and welcomes the judgment handed down by the Court of Appeal today (July 19) on the judicial review on the imposition of the Employees Retraining Levy (levy) on employers of foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) and the reduction of the minimum allowable wage for FDHs in 2003.

     The Immigration Department has resumed issuing employment visas to FDHs and the arrangements for bringing in FDHs and paying the levy remain unchanged.
