The spokesperson of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) made the following announcement today (June 26):
Four female patients (aged 54 to 88) of a Medicine and Geriatric Ward in PMH have presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms since June 19. The Norovirus test of one patient was found positive. Laboratory test results for the remaining patients are pending. They are now under isolated treatment and their conditions are stable.
Infection control measures have already been enhanced. There will be no new admission to the ward for the time being. Restricted visiting policy has been implemented and visitors are required to put on appropriate personal protective equipment. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
