Career-oriented Curriculum Expo 2006

    The Education and Manpower Bureau will organise COC Expo 2006 at the Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre from May 5 to 7 to enable schools, teachers, students and parents to have a better understanding of the piloting Career-oriented Curriculum (COC) courses to be offered in the next school year.

     Teachers, students, parents and the public are welcome to the Expo where the nine course providers offering piloting courses will exhibit their course information and give short talks to visitors.

     Details of the COC Expo 2006 are as follows:

Venue: West Block, Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre
      19 Suffolk Road, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon
      (Kowloon Tong MTR Station, Exit D or E)
Date: May 5 to 7 (Friday to Sunday)
Time: 9am to 5pm

     In addition to the existing four course providers - Vocational Education Council, Caritas Adult and Higher Education Service, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians Limited - five new course providers will join forces to offer a total of 34 courses in 2006/08.  

     They are City University of Hong Kong (School of Continuing and Professional Education), The Hong Kong Institute of Education (Division of Continuing Professional Education), HKUST College of Lifelong Learning of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Open University of Hong Kong (Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional and Continuing Education), and The University of Hong Kong (HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education).

     The COC courses cover the following six areas:

* Applied Science
* Business, Management and Law
* Creative Studies
* Engineering and Production
* Media and Communication
* Services
