The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr Paul Tong Hin Sum and Mr Jean Paul Wou as members to the Insider Dealing Tribunal to inquire into possible insider dealings in the listed securities of Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp. in July, 2000.
Appointment of the two members was made pursuant to section 15(2) of the Securities (Insider Dealing) Ordinance (Cap. 395).
Mr Tong is a Master of St John’s College, University of Hong Kong. Mr Wou is currently practising as a barrister at Liberty Chambers. Both are familiar with the operation of Hong Kong's financial markets.
They will sit on the tribunal under the chairmanship of the Honourable Mr Justice McMahon, Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court.
The preliminary hearing of the inquiry will start at 9am on Monday (March 6) at the Insider Dealing Tribunal on 38th Floor of the Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
