Construction works to be carried out in Government Dockyard on Stonecutters Island

The Government will construct a floating pontoon and mooring dolphin and provide a floating jetty for the existing boat hoist jetty in the Government Dockyard on Stonecutters Island.

The construction works are for the purpose of providing berthing facilities for the proposed Fire Services Departmentˇ¦s Diving Training Centre in the Government Dockyard on the island.

The works, which will affect about 2,590 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed, are scheduled to begin in late 2006 and be completed by early 2009.

A notice describing the extent of area affected is published in the Government Gazette today (January 6).

The notice together with a related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site. The plan can also be inspected at the Lands Departmentˇ¦s Survey and Mapping Office, 23 rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road and Sham Shui Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices, 303 Cheung Sha Wan Road.

Any person who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved can submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, on or before March 6, 2006.
