Tender awarded for petrol-filling stations
******************************************

The Lands Department announced today (December 28) that the tender for two petrol-filling stations at Waterloo Road, Kowloon (Kowloon Inland Lot No. 11180) and Canal Road West, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (Inland Lot No. 8989) had been collectively awarded to Sinopec (Hong Kong) Ltd (parent company: China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation) on a 21-year land grant at a total premium of $164.6 million.

"Authority from the Central Tender Board was given to the Lands Department to award the above sites to the highest tenderer," a Government spokesman said.

The successful tender was submitted on the basis of a single amount of tender premium for the purchase of both sites collectively as one package. These two sites are existing, re-tendered sites for the development of petrol-filling stations.

Apart from the successful tenderer, three other tenderers took part in the tender exercise, which altogether produced a total of six tenders: three for the sites individually and three for both sites collectively as a package. The other companies that tendered (individually or as a package) are listed below in respect of each lot and in alphabetical order:
