The Information Services Department today (December 10) activated its Combined Information Centre (CIC) for the World Trade Organization Hong Kong Ministerial Conference. It will be manned around the clock until December 19.
The CIC, Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre (ETCC) and the Press Centre at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), together with the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) are the main centres to handle media enquiries.
The CIC has been activated to co-ordinate dissemination of information among government departments to deal with major incidents relating to the conference. The Press Centre will handle matters relating to media events involving Hong Kong Government officials at the Convention Centre.
The ETCC will deal with transport enquiries while the PPRB will deal with questions about police operations. The ETCC and CIC have been activated and the Press Centre will begin operating at 10am next Tuesday (December 13).
All co-ordination centres will be manned around the clock during the conference.
