As winter is approaching, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) would like to appeal to people for blood donations to help those in need. The BTS has organized the "Let's Give Blood in Heart-warming Winter" Activity. As a token of appreciation, donors who give blood during the following period will be presented with a heart-warming souvenir:
* From now until Sunday (December 11) - "Heart ¡Vwarming" photo frame/photo album
* December 12-31 - "Heart-warming" blood donation hanging bag (see photo attached)
At the same time, the BTS has organised a competition of creative blood donation promotion short video clip. Entrants are invited to submit video clips (in Chinese language) that are created to encourage more people, especially youth, to give blood or become regular blood donors. The competition will be organised for secondary school group and open group. Interested parties are invited to enrol from now until January 31, 2006. Enrolment forms and competition details (in Chinese) can be collected at all donor centres or downloaded from the BTS web-site at http://www.ha.org.hk/rcbts.
The BTS would like to inform people that its Causeway Bay Donor Centre at 3rd Floor, Radio City, 505 Hennessy Road will be temporarily closed next Tuesday (December 13) and Sunday (December 18), in view of the special transport arrangements during the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong. People can give blood at other donor centres on these two dates.
