Operating hours of the four e-channels for cross-boundary drivers at Lok Ma Chau control point will be extended from today (December 1). The e-channels installed at both departure and arrival kiosks No. 10 and 11 will be open to the public from 7am to 10pm daily. Cross-boundary drivers who are Hong Kong permanent residents holding smart identity cards may use the e-channels to perform self-service clearance.
The Immigration Department will review the operating situation with a view to extending the opening hours of the e-channels and increasing the number of e-channels.
E-channel operation does not need to be manned. In case of need, drivers can press the call button right above the smart card reader and talk to immigration officers via the intercom.
