The Delegation of Shenzhou- 6 Manned Space Flight Mission was farewelled at a ceremony hosted by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, this morning (November 30) at the Government House after a three-day visit in Hong Kong.¡@Also attending were the Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, and the Secretary for Education and Manpower, Professor Arthur K C Li.
Mr Tsang thanked members of the delegation for their untiring efforts in meeting Hong Kong people everyday and night, giving them fond memories and joy from the success of the space mission. Mr Tsang said members of the Space Mission's spirit to make a contribution had given a boost to the morale of Hong Kong people and added a new dynamic to society.
Mr Tsang presented to leader of the delegation, Mr Hu Shixiang and astronauts Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng an album and sets of DVD recording their visit activities in Hong Kong.
The delegation was then seen-off by Mr Wong and Professor Li at the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan. About 400 secondary and primary students waved goodbye to the delegation as it left for Macau.
During their stay, the delegation attended the "Welcoming the Delegation of Shenzhou-6 Manned Space Flight Mission" variety show at the Hong Kong Stadium where they were welcomed by more than 30 000 people. They helped Hong Kong youth better understand China's aerospace technology development, and in various academic exchange forums and three sharing sessions with secondary and primary students and athletes, instilled in them a spirit of perseverance.
Their schedule also included visits to Hong Kong Science Park, Tsing Ma Bridge and Maritime Square at Tsing Yi , Hong Kong Disneyland and Santa's Town at Statue Square.
