The "Special Topics Report No. 42" on social statistics is published by the Census and Statistics Department today (November 29).
The report contains the findings of a special enquiry on "Hong Kong residents working in the mainland of China" which was conducted by the Census and Statistics Department via the General Household Survey from January to March 2005. This enquiry targeted people in the Hong Kong Resident Population who had ever worked on the Mainland during the year before enumeration. Information was collected on their socio-economic characteristics and their working conditions on the Mainland.
The report includes findings of the enquiry with some 30 statistical tables and charts. This publication is now on sale at HK$52 per issue. Both print version and download version of the publication can be purchased online at the "Statistical Bookstore, Hong Kong" (http://www.statisticalbookstore.gov.hk). Download version of the publication can be purchased at 75% of its original price exclusively at the online Statistical Bookstore.
