Man charged with murder

    Police today (November 26) charged a 46-year-old man with one count of murder.

     The man was arrested in connection with the death of a 77-year-old man in Princess Margaret Hospital on November 23.

     Investigation revealed that the 46-year-old man had a dispute with the deceased on the ground floor, Fu Man House in Tai Wo Hau Estate at about 4.15 pm on November 20, during which they fought with each other.

     The 46-year-old man reported the case to the Police after going home. After enquiries, he and the 77-year-old man were arrested for fighting in public place. They were sent to Yan Chai Hospital where both of them were discharged after treatment. They were later released on bail.

     At about 12 noon on November 23, a doctor of a private clinic at Tai Wo Hau Estate reported to the Police that a man was found collapsed in his clinic. The Police later confirmed that the man was the 77-year-old man who was involved in the fighting case on November 20.

     He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital and was certified dead at 10.47 pm on the same day.

     Post mortem conducted on the deceased yesterday revealed that he died of head injury.

     The case was reclassified as murder and the 46-year-old man was subsequently arrested for murder.

     He was charged with one count of murder today and will appear in Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Court on November 28 (Monday).
