The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joseph W P Wong, has commended civil servants for their achievements in enhancing the value and quality of services to the public through proactive and innovative means.
Mr Wong praised the winning teams and departments of the Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2005 for their quality services to the public. The Civil Service Bureau organises the annual service award scheme to promote a customer-oriented culture and to encourage the pursuit of excellence in service delivery. This year, the scheme has been expanded to include a new Partnership Award, with members of the adjudication panel drawn from the Legislative Council and District Council, to give credit to departments whose joint efforts have significantly enhanced services to the public.
This year's Team Award category attracted more than 100 entries. The following is the list of 27 winning teams from 17 departmentsˇG

On top of the five Team Awards, there are three Departmental Awards for this year's Outstanding Service Award Scheme. They include the Service Enhancement Award, the Best Public Image Award voted by members of the public, and the newly-introduced Partnership Award.
The Civil Service Bureau will organise the Prize Presentation Night and variety show next Friday (December 2) at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium to announce the winners for the various Departmental Awards.
Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Television Division has produced the Outstanding Departments Gala Show television programmes featuring exemplary services of the award-winning teams and departments, to be broadcast on Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) Jade at 7 pm on November 27 and December 4, 2005 respectively. The programmes will also be broadcast simultaneously at "RTHK On Internet" (http://tv.rthk.org.hk) and available at "Program Archive" at http://www.rthk.org.hk/special/outstandingaward2005/.
In addition, RTHK will produce a one-hour programme capturing the highlights of the Prize Presentation Night cum variety show and broadcast it on TVB Jade next Saturday, December 3, 2005, between 7pm and 8pm.
