In response to press enquiries relating to Chapter 3 "Development of a site at Sai Wan Ho" of Report No. 45 of the Director of Audit, the Audit Commission has issued the following statement:
The Audit Commission has emphasised that the auditees of this review are the government departments involved.
During the audit, the Audit Commission reviewed the government departments' procedures in handling the development of the site at Sai Wan Ho. The objective of this audit is to identify scope for improvement in administering land grants by the Government for large-scale development requiring the provision of government accommodation.
The Audit Commission has also emphasised that the Administration has accepted the audit recommendations.
