Men jailed for drugs trafficking

    Two men were sentenced to five years and four months imprisonment respectively for trafficking in dangerous drugs at the Court of the First Instance today (November 21).

     The court heard that Narcotics Bureau officers intercepted the two defendants, a 43-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, both Singaporean, on April 27 inside a ferry bound for Shekou.

     Upon searching, eight packets containing a total of two kilograms of Ketamine were found in their possession.

     The duo were arrested and later charged with trafficking in dangerous drugs.

     They were convicted of the charges and sentence was meted out this afternoon.
