Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park invites applications from stall operators
********************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is inviting individuals and subvented non-governmental organisations to submit applications to operate stalls during the sixth phase of the Arts Corner at Hong Kong Park.

The new round of the Arts Corner will run from noon to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from January 1 to December 31, 2006.

A total of 10 stalls will be set up at the outdoor area near the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware in Hong Kong Park, offering services such as painting, photography, calligraphy, sketching or Chinese traditional arts and craft.

Interested parties can submit their applications from tomorrow (November 21) to December 2, with forms available at Hong Kong Park Management Office, 1/F Rawlinson House, 19 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong.

Applications will be considered by the department's Arts Service Stalls Vetting Panel according to the quality and variety of services provided.

If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of stalls available, the allocation of the stalls will be determined by drawing lots.

Each successful applicant is required to pay a registration fee of $100 and a deposit of $1,000. The deposit will be forfeited if the stall operation attendance is less than 70% or when the agreement is terminated due to failure to fulfil the agreement terms. Successful applicants are required to deposit a public liability insurance policy of a minimum of $6.5 million for the contract period.

Completed application forms should be submitted together with copies of any proof of professional knowledge in respective fields and samples of past products of arts works to Hong Kong Park Management Office before 5pm on December 2.
