The Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr John Tsang, today (November 16) attended the second day of the APEC Ministerial Meeting in Busan, Korea. At the Plenary Session, ministers considered the progress on trade facilitation, discussed the way forward for the promotion of trade facilitation and measures to protect intellectual property rights. During the plenary session, Mr Tsang said Hong Kong Government would protect intellectual property rights with an effective legal framework, rigorous enforcement action and an ongoing public education programme. Ministers adopted the Joint Ministerial Statement before the close of the APEC Ministerial Meeting this year. Mr Tsang talks with US Trade Representative Robert Portman at the plenary session of the APEC Ministerial Meeting today (November 16).
