The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at premises comprising Shop J and K, Golden Court, 42 to 48 and 52 to 58, Yan Oi Tong Circuit, was ordered to suspend business from today (November 4) to November 17, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In February and April this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of the food business outside the licensed area at the said food premises," the spokesman said. "The two offences were committed in February and March this year. A total fine of $5,500 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension.
The spokesman added that there were also two convictions of the same offence in respect of the same restaurant in February and April this year. The two offences were committed in December 2004 and January 2005.
"A total fine of $4,800 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 11 to 17 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or even cancelled.
