Appointments to Hong Kong Tourism Board

The Government announced today (October 28) the re-appointment of two members to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).

Mr Mark Lettenbichler, Chairman of the Hong Kong Hotels Association, and Mr George Magnus, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners, are reappointed for a one-year term  from November 1, 2005, to represent hotel operators, a category of members designated in the Hong Kong Tourism Board Ordinance.  

There is no change to the composition of the HKTB after the reappointments which is as follows ¡V

(1) Prof Andrew Chan Chi-fai;
(2) Ms Vivien Chan;
(3) Dr Chan Wai-kwan;
(4) Mr Philip Chen Nan-lok;
(5) Mr Paul Chiu Kai-wo;
(6) Mr Chow Chung-kong;
(7) Mr Robert Chow Yung;
(8) Hon Mrs Selina Chow LIANG Shuk-yee, Chairman of HKTB;
(9) Hon Vincent Fang Kang;
(10) Mr Ronnie Ho Pak-ting;
(11) Mr Michael Hui Koon-man;
(12) Mr Stanley Ko Kam-chuen;
(13) Mr Frederick Lam Tin-fook;
(14) Mr Mark Lettenbichler;
(15) Mr Lo Sui-on;
(16) Mr George Magnus;
(17) Mr Tang Kwai-nang;
(18) Mr James Tak Wu;
(19) Mr Yu Pang-chun; and
(20) Secretary for Economic Development and Labour or Commissioner for Tourism, Deputy Chairman of HKTB.

Commenting on the reappointment, the Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Mr Stephen Ip said that Mr Lettenbichler and Mr Magnus were both very experienced in the hotel sector and had made valuable contribution to the work of the HKTB.  "We look forward to continuing working with them and the hotel trade to further promote tourism development in Hong Kong," Mr Ip said.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board Ordinance provides that the HKTB shall consist of 20 members, among which two shall be hotel operators.
