The 2005 edition of the Hong Kong Annual Digest of Statistics, published by the Census and Statistics Department (C&SD), is now on sale.
The Annual Digest is a comprehensive and convenient source of official statistics for data users in various fields. It contains statistics on a wide range of topics relating to society, the economy and businesses, including:

There are altogether some 300 statistical tables in 19 sections, providing detailed annual statistical series with data presented mostly for seven years, i.e. the most recent six years and the last 11th year. This serves to facilitate comparisons over the past decade or at five-year intervals. Also presented are relevant concepts and definitions of the statistical topics covered. Besides, a list of related publications for further reference is included.
In the 2005 edition, a new table and a number of new statistical items on such topics as Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes, prices of selected food items and health service are included for better understanding of Hong Kong's development in recent years.
The 2005 edition of the Hong Kong Annual Digest of Statistics is on sale at HK$100 per issue. Both print version and download version (in PDF format) of the publication can be purchased online at the "Statistical Bookstore, Hong Kong" (http://www.statisticalbookstore.gov.hk). Download version of the publication can be purchased at 75% of its original price exclusively at the online Statistical Bookstore. Print version if purchased online is also offered a discount, at 85% of its original price at the Statistical Bookstore as well as the Government Bookstore (http://www.isd.gov.hk/eng/bookorder.htm).
For purchase of print version, this can be done through mail order by returning a completed order form which can be downloaded from the C&SD's website (http://www.censtatd.gov.hk/eng/prod_serv/forms_index.html). The Hong Kong Annual Digest of Statistics is one of the general statistical digests compiled by the C&SD. Other digests include Hong Kong Economic Trends (half-monthly), Hong Kong Monthly Digest of Statistics and Hong Kong Social and Economic Trends (biennial). Each digest brings together statistical data covering various social and economic aspects of Hong Kong. Statistical data contained cover a very wide range of topics relating to society, the economy and businesses. The digests are each featured in its own way. They are published at different frequencies with statistical data series presented in various length, depth and formats. Complementing each other, together they form a comprehensive series for reference.
