Installation of temporary marine piles for HKCEC new Atrium
Link Extension

The Government intends to allow the Trade Development Council to install temporary marine piles in Wan Chai for the purposes of demolition of the existing Atrium Link of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and construction of the new Atrium Link Extension connecting Phase I and Phase II of the HKCEC.

The temporary marine piles will be removed upon completion of the Atrium Link Extension.

The work will affect about 16,070 square metres of foreshore and seabed at Wan Chai.

The work is scheduled to start next March and to be completed by early 2009.

A notice describing the extent of the area affected is published in the Government Gazette today (October 21).

The notice together with a related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site. The plan can also be seen at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23/F North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road and Public Enquiry Service Centre, Wan Chai District Office, G/F, 2 O'Brien Road, Wan Chai.

Anyone who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and seabed involved can submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20/F North Point Government Offices, by December 21.
