Applications sought for Cultural Ambassador Scheme

    The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is calling for applications for "Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2006-07" which aims to collaborate with worthy performing artists and arts organisations to bring the arts to the community.

     For the coming year, some of the activities under the scheme, if considered suitable, will take place at available facilities in the department's civic centres for more extensive accessibility to the community.

     Applicants should be local non-profit-making performing companies or an ensemble of artists which, in the past three years, have been active in specific art forms in Hong Kong, with proven experience and artistic merit. The proposal should cover one or more of the following performing art forms, e.g. opera/operatic singing, dance, music, theatrical art (including drama, mime, magic, puppetry, etc), multi arts and film/media art, etc. Activities may include performances, workshops, demonstrations, lectures, exhibitions, etc.

     Application forms and detailed information of the scheme are available at www.lcsd.gov.hk/cp, and the following outlets:

     Audience Building Office of Cultural Presentations Section, LCSD: Podium, Administration Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui (during office hours); major performing venues of LCSD including Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong City Hall, Sheung Wan Ho Civic Centre, Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre, Ko Sha Theatre, Sha Tin Town Hall, Kwai Tsing Theatre, Yuen Long Theatre, Tuen Mun Town Hall, Tai Po Civic Centre, Tsuen Wan Town Hall and North District Town Hall.

     Completed application form should be submitted with supporting information to the Audience Building Office of Cultural Presentations Section not later than 5.30pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2005.  Please mark "Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2006-07" on the envelope.
