Police arrested three men, aged between 31 to 39 years, who suspected to be in connection with a murder in which a 40-year-old woman was found attacked on Tai Po Road in Shamshuipo on September 22, 1999 and later died in hospital.
Two of them were arrested in the area of their place of residence in Tin Shui Wai and Mong Kok respectively last Saturday (October 15) while another one was arrested in Tsuen Wan today (October 17).
The case occurred at about 5.26 am on September 22, 1999. Police received a report that a woman was found attacked by three men with knives and collapsed at her newspaper stall on Tai Po Road. Police officers arrived at the scene and located the 40-year-old woman who sustained chop wounds on her body. The woman was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 6.32 am on the same day.
After intensive investigation, officers of Kowloon Westˇ¦s Regional Crime Unit arrested the three men suspected in connection with the murder case respectively on October 15 and today. The arrested men are being detained for further enquiries.
