MPFA recovers MPF non-payment for 13 employees

    The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (October 17) pursued seven claims in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $95,000 on behalf of 13 employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

     The seven defendants - Kooll Strategic Development Limited, Wide Best Holdings Limited trading as Sushi An, Wonder World Engineering Limited, Target Field (China) Limited trading as Noble House Seafood, Mega Pride (Uniform) Corp. Limited, Golden Technology Communication Limited and King Kwong Ping, Michael trading as K. P. Industrial Company - did not appear at today's hearing.  In their absence, the Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA the sums of $21,858.08, $21,552.09, $17,922.92, $12,225.95, $11,632.82, $8,505.00 and $388.54 respectively, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

     The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The court further awarded payments of $200, $130, $120, $290, $390, $250 and $130 as costs in respect of the claims.
