A bloodworm was discovered in the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's (LCSD) Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool this morning (October 10).
At about 8.55am, a swimmer reported to the staff of the swimming pool that a bloodworm was in the outdoor leisure pool.
In accordance with the established hygiene procedures, staff of the pool closed the pool for cleaning and superchlorination.
A thorough inspection of the pool complex is being carried out. The Department of Health, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department were approached to assist in the inspection.
The swimming pool complex is closed today from 10am to 6.30pm for cleaning, as Monday is the regular weekly cleaning day.
